You sell in Commerce, turn a Sales proposal into an invoice, charge in Health, run the payroll in Human resources, log a cost in Projects or close a count in Inventory, and the entry is created on its own. If an entry fails, it is retried automatically, and whatever is still pending stays in sight on a list.

You enter the statement balance and the system compares it with your books. You record outstanding checks, fees and interest; the ones that affect the books are posted when you close.

Income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and balance aging: all updated the moment the sale is posted. You do not wait until Monday to see how the month is going.
